1992 serves as the pivotal year in a new Tiffany & Co. short film. The date is marked on a Blue Box found in an Upper East Side townhouse. The discovery triggers a flashback to a December day in New York.
Amanda Seyfried debuts as a house ambassador for the jewelry brand in this project. The campaign is titled "Love is a Gift." The accompanying film is called "You & Me." It was directed by Derek Cianfrance, who previously helmed "Blue Valentine" and "The Place Beyond the Pines." American Haiku and Radical Media produced the work. Arseni Khachaturan handled the cinematography.
The narrative alternates between present-day New York and a holiday memory. In the current timeline, a woman decorating a Christmas tree locates the dated box. In the 1990s memory, her mother wears Tiffany HardWear jewelry. The mother hands the daughter a Blue Box containing a hand-painted Bird on a Rock ornament.
The ornament was created specifically for the film. Production designer Karen Murphy collaborated with the brand on the piece. It adapts a design originally created by Jean Schlumberger in 1965. The film features a rendition of the Wannadies' 1984 track "You & Me Song."
Seyfried stated she is thrilled to join the brand. She noted that the film captures how a meaningful gift can hold memories and become part of a family's story. She added that it was special to bring that idea to life with Tiffany this holiday season. She recently wore the brand's jewelry to the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.
Anthony Ledru, president and CEO of Tiffany & Co., welcomed Seyfried to the brand. He said she embodies the joy, style, and sophistication that have defined the company for nearly 190 years. He added that the brand is proud to welcome her to the Tiffany family. The house described the film as exploring how a gift can become an heirloom carrying memories and traditions across generations.
