Liam Nolan has secured a DP World Tour card for the upcoming season following a final round of 67 at the HotelPlanner Tour's Grand Final in Majorca. The Galway golfer finished the event in ninth place, a result that placed him within the top 15 finishers who receive full playing rights for the next year.

Nolan faced considerable pressure going into Sunday's play. He began the day tied for 25th after posting a 71 in the third round. That performance threatened his chances of claiming one of the limited spots available on the tour, forcing him to lower his score significantly on the final day to maintain his position in the standings.

At Club de Golf Alcanada, Nolan responded with five birdies in his first seven holes. Although he recorded a bogey on the second hole, he followed that with additional birdies on the 13th and 15th holes. A final bogey on the 17th did not alter the outcome, as his aggregate score was sufficient to guarantee his spot.

Kenny Fahey, the head coach at the Golf Ireland Academy, was present at the venue to witness the finish. Fahey stated that Nolan played proper golf and deserved the result. He noted that it was preferable to secure the card while running toward the goal rather than running away from it. Fahey added that the evening ahead would be long for the coaching staff and the player.

Nolan, who has worked with Fahey since the age of 12, acknowledged the relief of having the qualification process completed. He described the experience as surreal and noted that he could relax for approximately one week before resuming his training. He credited the consistent support of his caddie, Sean Nohilly, who encouraged him to absorb the positive results of the year.

The win in the Abu Dhabi Challenge in October had propelled Nolan into contention for the tour card. Subsequent strong performances, including a tied fifth at the Hainan Open and a tied 14th in Spain, maintained his momentum. Julien Sale from France won the Grand Final by four strokes over Denmark's Hamish Brown, who finished first in the overall HotelPlanner Tour standings.

The new DP World Tour season is scheduled to start on November 26. The opening event will be the BMW Australian PGA Championship, held at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney.
