Apple has published support documentation detailing the exact accessories required for the iPhone Duo to reach its maximum charging speeds. The company states that the device can reach 50 percent battery in approximately 20 minutes when wired, but only if paired with specific hardware.
For that 20 minute wired charge, Apple requires the USB-C cable included in the box. The power adapter must be either the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max, listed at $34, or a third-party unit rated for at least 60W. Apple specifies that third-party chargers must use Adjustable Voltage Supply and support USB Power Delivery 3.2.
Wireless charging operates on a different timeline. Apple says the iPhone Duo reaches 50 percent in about 30 minutes without a cable. To achieve this, users need a MagSafe Charger, priced at $30, or an adapter rated for 35W or higher. Apple names compatible options from its own lineup and from Anker.
The 9to5Mac reporting notes that third-party chargers often provide better value than Apple's first-party options. The publication recommends Anker's 100W charging brick as a versatile choice for users with multiple devices. It also notes that the discounted Apple 40W adapter remains a solid option for those preferring official hardware.
Users seeking more cable length can purchase Apple's official 2 meter USB-C cable, which is available at a discount. The documentation clarifies that the headline charging speeds are conditional on using the correct combination of cable and power adapter.
