U2 is preparing to perform an exclusive concert for BBC Music on November 3, a move that precedes the release of their new studio album, Carnaval De Luz. The 22-time Grammy Award-winning band will play at an undisclosed indoor venue in central London for a select audience. The event serves as a promotional launch for the record, which is scheduled to hit shelves on November 13.

The announcement was made on BBC Radio 2 by host Jo Whiley. The concert is part of a multi-platform media package designed to generate momentum for the upcoming album. U2 will perform a setlist that includes both new tracks from Carnaval De Luz and songs from their existing back catalogue.

Ticket sales are structured as a limited ballot. Fans can apply through the BBC Shows and Tours website until midnight on October 29. The exact location of the venue will only be revealed to those who win tickets on the day of the performance. This strategy aims to create a sense of exclusivity and immediate engagement with the band’s newest material.

The live performance will be broadcast on multiple channels following the event. BBC Two will air the concert as part of a special evening of programming in late November. Additionally, listeners can hear the performance on Whiley's Radio 2 show on November 30 from 7pm to 9pm. This broadcast will include a new interview with the band and will be available on BBC Sounds.

Beyond the concert, the band will participate in a feature on Vernon Kay's BBC Radio 2 weekday programme called Tracks of My Years. Each of the four band members will select ten influential songs that have shaped their personal lives and careers. This episode will be available on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer starting at 6am on November 15. It will also air on Kay's show during the week beginning November 16 and will be broadcast on BBC Two on the same night as the concert special.

Whiley expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, noting the band's consistent stage presence. "Every time I see U2 perform, they're always incredible, giving 100% to each and every show," she said. "I can't wait to see what they have in store for us, and to share what I know will be a fantastic concert with listeners."

The release of Carnaval De Luz on November 13 marks the next major release for the group. The coordinated media campaign, spanning radio, television, and digital platforms, is timed to maximize audience reach in the two weeks leading up to the album's official launch date.
