Roope Hintz scored the winning goal at 3:47 of overtime, giving the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets at American Airlines Center. The goal resulted from a breakaway setup by Miro Heiskanen, who recorded the decisive assist without adding a goal himself.

The sequence began with a defensive effort. Jason Robertson blocked a scoring chance for Winnipeg, creating an immediate transition opportunity. Heiskanen moved the puck to Hintz, who finished the play alone. The move converted a defensive recovery into an offensive threat within seconds.

Robertson’s performance involved a sequence of error and correction. According to Heika, a turnover by Robertson initially created the Winnipeg chance that he later blocked. The recovery was a collective effort that shifted momentum rather than an individual play by Heiskanen.

The game featured heavy workload distribution on the Dallas defensive unit. With Esa Lindell scratched from the lineup, Heiskanen played 29 minutes and 20 seconds. Thomas Harley logged 28 minutes and 27 seconds. Lian Bichsel recorded 17 minutes and 47 seconds of ice time, while Nils Lundkvist, Tyler Myers, and Kyle Capobianco also appeared on the roster.

Winnipeg held the lead for much of the contest. Johnston opened the scoring early in the second period, and Gabriel Vilardi and Kyle Connor extended the lead later in the same frame. Dallas trailed until Hintz scored a six-on-five goal with two minutes remaining in regulation to tie the game.

The Stars outshot the Jets 38-19, but netminder Skinner made 35 saves to keep the contest close. The high volume of shots did not translate into an easy win, forcing Dallas to rely on late-game execution. Heiskanen finished the night with five shots, one block, and the winning assist.

The team has not announced a return date for Lindell or a permanent change to the defensive rotation. The current lineup remains a temporary adjustment for the absence, with no official schedule change confirmed for the upcoming games.
