Coach Launches Distressed Loved Leather
New vintage finish targets best-selling bags and footwear to meet the shift toward relaxed silhouettes.

Coach has introduced a new leather finish called Loved Leather for its best-selling handbags and accessories. The treatment applies a specific process to smooth or Glovetanned materials to reveal the base color of the hide. This creates a subtly distressed appearance that mimics the look of well-worn items immediately after purchase.
The brand states that the finish removes the need for careful handling by owners. Because the aesthetic is intentionally worn-in, natural signs of aging and developing patina are expected features rather than flaws. Each piece is distinct, as no two items share the exact same wear pattern.
The new treatment applies to several popular styles, including the Brooklyn Shoulder Bag, the Empire Carryall, the Kisslock Frame Bag, and the Emily Shoulder Bag. Footwear such as the Margot Sandal and Margot Slingback kitten heel also features the finish. The catalog expansion includes outerwear, travel bags, and small leather goods, though handbags remain the primary focus of the launch.
The timing of the release aligns with current accessory trends moving away from structured silhouettes and heavy hardware. Designers are favoring slouchy shapes and relaxed profiles for the fall and winter seasons. The lived-in leather texture complements this shift in form and function for consumers seeking less rigid accessories.
Shoppers can select from five colorways: brown, tan, black, olive, and white. Hardware options include both silver and brass finishes. Coach is also extending the distressed concept to other materials through Loved Suede and Loved Denim. These two additional lines broaden the range of textures available in the collection.
The company positions the launch as a way to make iconic designs feel more authentic and personal. The vintage-inspired look allows the products to evolve with the owner over time. The collection is now available across the brand's full lineup of purses and footwear.
